Beach Hopping in the Northern Costa Blanca – Denia Hotels

One enjoyable summer is swimming and enjoying fine beaches and clear waters. The Costa Blanca, with its 200 kilometers of beaches running north to south, has so much to offer to a tourist as far as water activities are concerned. And Denia has 20 kilometers of coast with different beach typologies. Sandy beaches, rocky coves and a hotel Denia will complete one’s exhilarating holiday.

Unlike the hotels in Benidorm or Altea, those that you find in Denia are mostly refurbished old buildings of the 19th century. However, many of these are still near the plentiful beaches thus staying in one of the hotels in Denia gives you accessibility to do some beach hopping.

La Almadraba –

This is not a particularly nice place because of the fair amount of seaweed along the shores. This is a long, narrow stone beach which is lined by summer houses. The only favorable characteristic of this beach is it’s quieter that the other beaches.

Les Rotes-

This is to the south of Denia and it is made up of of coarse golden sand and rocks that end into few small coves. The Parque National del Montgo is near the beach. The waters at Les Rotes are suitable for diving and sailing. The European blue flag is hoisted and there are bus stations, lifeguards, parking and other amenities nearby.

La Punta del Raset

This is the main beach in the Las Marinas area and you can reach this by just walking from the town center. It is wide with fine, white sands and it provides special services for the disabled and guests with restrained mobility. The beach is fairly clean and the sea water is of light blue shade.

Les Marines –

This is sandy beach to the northern part of Denia. It extends to 2 and a half kilometers length with European blue flags. On this beach, you will find pedal boats and canoes for hire. Deck chairs and sun shades are also available for rental. Among the amenities are lifeguards, boardwalks and foot showers. The place is very suitable to wind surfing and kite surfing.

The other beaches that can also be explored are the Les Devesses and La Marineta Casiana, very busy beaches for water sports practice, the Cala de Aigua Dolc which is a nudist beach located on a cliff next to Montgo Park, Raco de Alberca whose beach is of sand gravel and rocks. Playa La Nova is an urban beach with all kinds of facilities, including those for the disabled. The Les Bovetes, Sorts de Mar, Molinos y Palmeras are beaches of sand and gravel and has limited or none at all facilities.

With a booking in any hotel Denia, a beach loving tourist can explore and have a taste of the many beaches. Swimming in the beaches with European blue flags are recommended but strolling in the undeveloped beaches can be another adventure.
